Menopausal symptoms can start as early as 10 years prior to menopause. The average age of menopause is age 50. That means if you are in your 40’s and experiencing symptoms like hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, and/or low libido your journey has begun.
You Don't Have to Struggle. You Have Choices.
The treatment and management of menopause is multi-disciplinary. There are numerous treatment modalities, which aid in the management and relief of menopausal symptoms. These modalities include:
-
Lifestyle modifications—exercise, weight loss, quit smoking
-
Dietary adjustments
-
Behavioral Therapy
-
Supplements
-
Lubricants
-
Herbs
-
Bio-identical Hormones (oral, sublingual, topical [creams or oils)], pellets
-
Medications
At Boulder Whole Health we utilize bio-identical and compound hormones.
What are bioidentical hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are derived from naturally occurring sources, such as yams and soy, and are designed to replicate the same chemical structure as the hormones that are produced naturally by our bodies. Based on your hormone levels, and physical parameters, we can tailor a bioidentical hormone regimen specifically designed for you.
Pharmaceutical companies can not patent bioidentical hormones because each regimen is specifically formulated to treat a patient on an individual basis. Instead, they manufacture synthetic hormones that are patentable but not easily tailored to each persons needs. Also, because they differ chemically from the hormones our body produces, synthetic hormones tend to cause more side effects and risks.
